By Sulayman Bah Recently signed Modou has been showered with praises after scoring on his debut for English Premier League Swansea City U-21s. The 21-yearly hammered home the second goal as the Swans rubbished Birmingham City’s U-21s 3-2 and gaffer Chris Llewellyn was delighted over the performance of the Gambian. Modou got the nod after receiving international clearance on Monday afternoon. Chris told the club site: “I’m pleased for him (Modou Barrow). We didn’t receive the international clearance until late afternoon.” The 21-year-old joins from Swedish second tier’s Ostersunds FK on a three-year deal. The left-footer who notched ten goals this season for his erstwhile employers, is attached to the Wales club on a performance-related contract and links up with his new club’s U-21 side. Though the deal fee agreed between Swansea and Ostersunds is undisclosed, but the sum involved is believed to be in the region of 1.7 million pounds. The Swans piped Middlesbrough, Bolton Wanderers, Hull City and Everton to sign Modou. Modou is a fast-paced type of a player with an incredible penchant for dribbling and an eye for goal. He can be fielded from either side of the wings or behind the strike. ]]>
