Following this medium’s publication of their story yesterday Thursday September 29th 2022, the Banjul flood victims currently hosted at the Friendship Hostel in Bakau, have received clothes from a private citizen who sympathised their plight after hearing their story.
“She brings the clothes for us to use. She said she heard our story and felt sorry for us,” Fatoumatta Manneh told Foroyaa.
“The clothes are for adults. They are for us, me and Adama Jallow,” she said.
Adama Jallow told Foroyaa that the clothes were received on her behalf, “because I was not around. I went out. I have just returned.”
When asked whether they have a house to go to with their families as they are set to leave the Friendship Hostel today Friday, 30th September 2022, Manneh responded in the negative.
“We are still looking for a house. We have no house and even if we have it, we do not have money to pay the rent because it is expensive,” she said.
