Justice Ogar Edward Eneji, the vacation judge at the Banjul High court has yesterday 11 August, 2016 adjourned the bail 
application of the remanded sick erstwhile Minister of Petroleum Mrs. Sira Wally Ndow-Njai and two other officials of Gambia National Petroleum Company (GNPC) till 22 August 2016 for adoption.
The other two other officials are Mr. Noah Touray, former Secretary to cabinet and Momodou O S Badjie, former Managing Director of GNPC.When the case was called Lawyer Lamin S. Camara counsel for Mr. Badjie told the court that they have an application for bail and that the case is for hearing.
He continued “The state have been served and we received an affidavit in opposition this morning and we are minded to file an affidavit of reply to the serious averments contained in the affidavit in opposition. We are applying for an adjournment subject to the court’s convenience for the earliest possible date. I will file on Tuesday and serve the state that very day”, defence counsel Camara said.
Lawyer Loubna Farage counsel for Mr. Noah Touray also made the same application made by lawyer Camara and also informed the court that she will file on the same day and effect service on the state.
Lawyer Mary A. Samba and Y.H Cox who held briefs for Lawyer Ida Drammeh counsel for Mrs. Sira Wally Ndow-Njai also made similar application and further drew the court’s attention to the extraverted medical condition of her client. She applied for Mrs-Ndow-Njai to be monitored, observed and taken to the hospital.
However, Hadi Saleh Barkun, the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) said he has no objection to the medical issue raise by defence counsel Samba, whether in the prisons or outside the prisons, provided it is within the rules of the prisons.
At this juncture, Kalipha Bojang a prison officer told the court that they have medical officers at mile two central prisons and whenever the need arises she will be taken to them.
Justice Eneji told Mr. Bojang to convey to the Doctor to monitor and check Mrs. Ndow-Njai routinely not to wait until she complains.
At this juncture, the presiding judge adjourned the case till Tuesday 22 August, 2016 at 12noon for adoption of briefs.
He further ordered the prison authorities to give special medical attention to her by periodically attending to Mrs. Ndow-Njai.
It could be recall that Mrs. Sira Wally Ndow-Njai together with two other officials of the GNPC namely Noah Touray former Secretary to Cabinet, Mr. Momodou O S Badjie Former Managing Director of Petroleum were denied bail by Justice Otaba of the Special Criminal Division of the High Court last week.
However, Justice Otaba granted bail to 7 official of GNPC who are jointly charged with the trio who are refused bail. Those granted bail are Edrissa Mass Jobe, former chair of the board, Cherno Marena, former Solicitor General, Muntanga Momodou Sallah, Former Petroleum Permanent Secretary, Louie Moses Mendy, Seedy Kanyi, Fafa Sanyang, Former Petroleum Permanent Secretary and Momodou Taal.
