Farmers throughout the country have been exposed to a new scheme that would have to be fully assessed and evaluated when the 2024/2025 groundnut trade season comes to an end at the end of this month as indicated by FACs. It is expected that a declaration will be made to that effect.
Our findings reveal that reconciliation is taking place at all levels in order to ensure farmers receive their dues before 31st March 2024. There is reconciliation between GGC and the seccos and another within the QMoney chain with the aim to continue the purchases. We therefore hope that the registrar general at the cooperatives department, FACs coordinator and liaison, the management at NFSPMC (GGC) and the QMoney operatives will do a proper assessment of their partnership and evaluate its impact on the trade season so as to draw valuable lessons to guide future operations.
