The Deputy Police Public Relations Officer, Muhammed Y. Darboe, yesterday Tuesday told Foroyaa that the alleged scamming case involving four foreign nationals is still being investigated by forensic investigators of the Gambia Police Force (GPF).
However, DPPRO Darboe could not make further comments on the matter since forensic investigators are busy looking for more possible evidence in the case.
Initially, Darboe said investigators were gathering forensic evidence from the suspect’s google drive and other internet data, to analyse all crime-related physical evidence in order to come to a conclusion on the suspects who he said may likely face prosecution if investigators find potential evidence. That so far, the four were since granted bail and the office of the IGP is yet to press charge(s) against them.
“Investigators are putting all the facts gathered together for further action,’’ DPPRO Darboe said.
For the information of the reader, the suspects in the above case are aged between 20 and 26, and were arrested by the Police in 2022, for their alleged involvement in suspected online scamming.
