By Sulayman Bah Gambia winger Alieu Darbo has signed for an Italian club, Foroyaa Sport can report. The 22-year-old put pen-to-paper on an undisclosed fee from Spanish second tier outfit Tenerife. Darbo joined the Segunda outfit in Spain on a short term bosman transfer following his release by Croatian giants Dinamo Zagreb. The Swede-born Gambia youth international is attached to his new employers on a three-year deal, the club confirmed. Crotone is a club that plies its trade in the Italian Serie B –second division – and finished sixth in the league last season. With the arrival of former Le Mans attacking midfielder, there’s a renewed hope the Gambian could bolster Crotone’s push for promotion to the Serie A when the season re-opens. Alieu pictured above flaunting his new club jersey, is to don the number ten jersey and becomes the second Gambian player to join the Italian league after Ali Sowe of Chievo Verona. Darbo who featured for Gambia in the U-17 youth World Cup in Nigeria in 2009 and the U-20 qualifiers, is a player renowned for his strong penchant for step-overs.]]>
