Aja Sanyang, the Police Woman from Faraba Banta who was recently arrested and detained at Banjulunding Police Station, has been released on bail on Friday December 21st 2018.
According to sources, the reason for her arrest and detention arises from information obtained by an investigative panel set up by the Police to probe into the Faraba incident, in a bid to prosecute perpetrators, as recommended by a Commission of Inquiry report. According to sources, Aja Sanyang and six others are to report on bail at Banjulunding Police Station on Monday 24th December 2018.
This reporter contacted both Aja Sanyang and the Police PRO ASP Lamin Njie, to hear from them, but our efforts failed to yield fruits. It is however reported that the Police PRO is on tour with the Gambia Transport Union and was in Basse, at the time.
