Greek Super League club, APO Lavadiakos, last Saturday announced the signing of Gambia’s central midfielder Lamarana Jallow, fondly called Lama.
Lavadiakos, a newly promoted Greek football club that plays in the Greece Super League signed the young Gambian midfielder on a season-long loan deal from Gambia’s second division club, Elite United.
The 22-year-old was a mainstay in Gambia’s Under-20 WAFU Zone A championship team in 2020, before signing for Sporting Lisbon’s U-23 side in 2021. A year later, he left Sporting Lisbon for AEK Athens on a year-long loan deal from Elite United again, after a failed stint with the Portuguese club.
Lama is now joining Lavadiakos ahead of the forthcoming season and he is reported to have played 17 matches for Athens’ B team last season.
