Foroyaa has been in existence since the first republic and the greatest problem farmers have been subjected and are still subjected to is credit buying. The seccos would take the produce of the farmers on credit and would produce to pay after reselling the crops, though sometimes suffer from cash trap, thus leaving them to receive their nuts without paying cash. They give promissory notes to farmers for recovery of their cash whenever it is available. There have been incidents in the past where farmers would go up to court level at their own expense to demand for their money.
The government needs to look into the issue of credit buying to ensure that farmers are well protected after toiling and moiling under the rain and hot sun to produce their crops.
