The debate between the environmentalists and the US embassy is just one side of the issue of the land allocation. The other issue that is being discussed is whether the embassy requested for the location or had been granted the location by the government after land application.
It is debated that the ITC was enacted by an Act of Parliament and its successor was also premised on an Act of Parliament. All embassies are required to abide by the law of the land. It is therefore advisable for the embassy to hire a legal counsel to look into all the legalities of land allocation to ensure that no law is breached on the allocation of the land. Foroyaa is still conducting its investigation and will accordingly publish its findings.
