Is the Chief Justice monitoring the proceedings in the children’s courts?

Reports reaching the media regarding developments in the children’s courts are quite alarming. Unfortunately, the law does not permit the media to publish matters regarding children in such courts. The National Assembly may have to amend such a provision so that the media will have some access to the proceedings and be conditioned only to keep identities off reports. It is important for the Chief Justice to establish monitoring mechanism such as a complaints unit to hear the grievances of families before such courts.
