QUESTION FOR THE DAY
The government declared the date of commencement of the trade season as 16th December 2019. Since then Foroyaa has been visiting the seccos (buying points) to find out how the trade is faring.
The GGC and the government should do a preliminary assessment so as to find out how trade season is faring. Our preliminary assessment indicates that buyers across the border are beginning to have a stronghold that may lead to huge movement of groundnuts across the border due to disparity in prices. We will continue our assessment until a clear picture can be drawn of all developments regarding this year’s trade season.
