Judges and Magistrates need security of tenure

There can be no independence of the judiciary if the magistrates and judges could be removed without any form of judicial enquiry.

Those who administer justice should not be under the direction or control of any other authority but the Constitution, the laws and judicial precedence.

The Bar Association and the Bench should make it their priority to reach an understanding with the executive and the legislature so that those who occupy the position of magistrate or judge should not be removed from their offices without impeachment procedures being undertaken to review any allegation made against them.
