55 year old Father in need of urgent surgery

Mr. Sarjoba Fanneh, a 55 year old head of a family, is appealing for assistance to undergo operation in any of the hospital or clinics in the country (the Gambia) for a disorder affecting his reproductive organ.

According to medical report from the Edward FrancisSmall Teaching Hospital (EFSTH), Mr. Fanneh, who was a patient presented to accident and emergency unit, is diagnosed with “with persisted penile erection which started after taking sildenafil citrate 100mg. The erection persisted for 3 days and was offered for surgery but declined.”

The medical report indicated that there is no known history of SCD or any other chronic illness.

It states: “Past medical history: hypertension for 5 years, no history of DM. On examination: stable in mild painful distress. … Abdomen: side, non tender movers with respiratory no palpable organomegally. Genitourinary: the penis is stand still erection, rigid with normal testis.”

The report recommended for the patient to undergo penile stenting as the duration is more than 72 hours.

Mr. Fanneh is the breadwinner in his family and this medical condition is seriously affecting his work and the families livelihood.
