Foroyaa has been informed by a close source that the 5 agric
officials, who were earlier granted bail by the high court, have been
re-arrested and detained by the police yesterday, Wednesday, 1 July,
2015 after Magistrate Momodou S.M. Jallow denied the police request
for them to be remanded.They were before Magistrate Jallow of the Banjul Magistrate’s Court
yesterday, Thursday, 2 July, after they were granted bail by the high
court. However, the court ruled that they should be taken back to the
police to be granted bail and for the matter to be handled by the high
court.
The said officials namely Mr. Fafanding Fatajo, Mr. Burang Danjo,
Madam Ada Gaye, Mr. Bakary Kujabi and Mr. Omar Jammeh were reported to
have been picked up between 6 pm and 7 pm and taken to the Kairaba
Station from where they were later transferred to police headquarters
in Banjul.
As we go to press, the five were still held in the cells at the Banjul
